About IFCA
Iranian Female Composers Association (IFCA) is a group of artists who have combined their experiences and creativity to create a platform for otherwise-unheard musical voices from inside Iran and the Iranian diaspora, and build and support a growing community of female and non-binary identifying composers. IFCA has curated and produced concerts at various significant venues including the Kennedy Center’s Direct Current Festival and Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival.
In 2022, some of our notable events included a collaborative concert with the International Contemporary Ensemble at NYU Skirball, premieres with Loadbang Ensemble at the National Opera Center, Stony Brook University, and Tufts University, as well as IFCA portrait concerts with Contemporary Insights in Dresden’s blaueFABRIK and Der Gelbe Klang ensemble in Munich.
IFCA was featured at Ojai Festival 2023. Alongside “Peyvand” at National Sawdust in Spring 2024, IFCA will also have a workshop of its collective opera in Fall 2025 at National Opera Center in NYC.
In addition to concerts, IFCA holds monthly forums in which members are invited to present their works and share their artistic practice with our community.
